Xi'an Jiaotong University in partnership with the Confucius Institute at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln invites high school students across the state to spend two fun-filled weeks studying and travelling in China.
The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp gives Nebraskan students an opportunity to learn about China and experience an entirely different part of the world. Students will visit historic locations such as the Terracota warriors and Mosoleum of the First Emperor of China in Xi'an, ride bicycles on the city walls of Xi'an, climb the Great Wall, as well as learn rudimentary Chinese.
The Confucius Institute will select 15 to 20 Nebraskan high school students, aged 14 to 18 years old, who apply for Chinese Birdge Summer Camp at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Students will be accompanied by a minimum of two chaperons who are experienced Nebraskan educators as well as one or two local Chinese chaperons to act as guides and lead activities. The trip will last for two weeks from July 6 to July 20. Xi'an Jiaotong University will cover expenses for accomodations, food, group activities, and local travel in China. Students need only pay for the airfare, the Chinese visa application, and international travel insurance. The Confucius Institute will also provide a scholarship to some students on a competitive basis of up to $500 for students to defray the cost of travel.
